The Freedom Memorial Pavilion is located on "Old School House Hill", just above the Valleytown Cultural Arts Center at Chestnut and
Third Streets.
The Pavilion serves as a memorial of our native inhabitants, the Cherokees, and of those who have given their lives in the service of their
country. It also provides an outdoor classroom for the nearby Elementary and High Schools, linking to them via one of the Valley Trails. The
design of the classroom incorporates Cherokee design principles and includes interpretive signage of their history.
